FAQ

If you are a healthy adult who wants to revive your facial contours, rejuvenate your appearance, plump your lips, or address lines and wrinkles, you may be a great candidate for injectable treatment. Here at New Look Skin Center, we have mastered the use of a wide variety of injectable products. During your consultation, an experienced member of our team will listen to your concerns and your cosmetic goals. They will discuss what treatment involves and what you can expect in terms of results. Provided that you understand the scope of improvement your provider anticipates, you may be ready to move forward with your injectable treatment during that same visit.

The purpose of your consultation with an injectables provider is to determine which product or products would be ideal for you. Here, we take our time listening to concerns and examining the skin in the area of focus. This may be your lips, the undereye area, the cheeks, jawline, hands, or other area. Whatever you wish to achieve, your provider can discuss a product that would be suitable for the intended outcome. For example, if your objective is to eliminate those pesky crow’s feet at the outer corners of your eyes, your provider may suggest Botox injections. This product smoothes wrinkles by relaxing the muscle movement that causes them. Now, the creases that form around your nose and mouth aren’t caused by muscle movement, they are caused by a loss of volume in your skin. For this complaint, your provider may recommend a dermal filler. The good news about injectable treatment is that you don’t have to show up for your appointment knowing which product is right for you. The conversation that you have with your provider will help you determine this.

Dermal fillers are a type of injectable treatment. The term “injectables” simply describes the mode of treatment delivery. Botox is also an injectable, but one that works differently than dermal fillers. Dermal fillers are injectable products that deposit a substance such as hyaluronic acid into the skin. Hyaluronic acid improves the volume of the skin by binding to water molecules. Other dermal fillers, such as Radiesse, improve volume through other ingredients.

Your injectable treatment may last only about 30 minutes. You can be in and out of the office during your lunch break without missing a beat. You’ll be able to return to your day as normal, only looking more refreshed and confident! The results of your filler treatment could last one to two years. This depends on the product that is selected.

The most common side effects of injectable treatment are pinpoint redness and swelling. There is a slight chance of bruising. You can reduce this risk by avoiding nicotine and alcohol for a day or two before receiving your treatment.
